New stunt video from Burned: Arrow vs Firefly

In the episode Burned we see Arrow hesitant, his confidence shaken after the beating he took via the Dark Archer in the previous episode that left him in the hospital. Laurel has approached Arrow for help with the suspicious death of a firefighter and this leads him to a showdown with Firefly.

In this stunt rehearsal for the fight between Arrow and Firefly, Fight Co-ordinator James Bamford explains that Arrow is experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after the beating. Garfield Lynns aka Firefly, who ordinarily would not be a match for Arrow, manages to get a shot on him. He creates a “wall of fire shield between the two of them so he can make his escape”.

James verbalises the thoughts running through Arrow’s mind at this point. It’s a critical point in Arrow’s comeback. Look out for the temporary special effect added into the video.

So if you haven’t already seen it, sit back and watch Arrow vs Firefly:

I hope the CW continues to upload these rehearsal videos. They really are fantastic and James is a wonderful director with an eye for action. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, James should direct an episode of Arrow. I can only hope The Powers That Be are listening.
