Every time I hear this song I think of the short film that James made with Jeff Ong (Aro) as an intro for the Leo Awards: Bam: Late for the Leos. I may be biased but I haven’t seen a more entertaining short film. It’s chock full of homages to action films and TV shows.
Are you up to some challenges?
1. Between us all I think we can name the homages. Watch the video and share your thoughts via the comments of this blog.
2. How many of these things did you spot:
James has a drawing of himself fighting Bruce Lee, as well as a photo of he, Sly Stallone and Mickey Rourke. Bam’s Lock screen is Hello Kitty. He has a Brazilian Wax scheduled. He has Halo scheduled as well as a rehearsal for Lasky (a Halo 4 character) – this was filmed at a time that his participation in the Halo 4 Web Series wasn’t publicly known. He’s wearing a Muhammad Ali robe that was a birthday gift from the awesome Gillian who manages the Stunts Canada office.
Watch out for a cameo by James’ gorgeous dog Luna (Luna the Wonder Dog) – she’s a natural.

Here’s a few of my guesstimates:
1:00 – Ferris Bueller’s Day Off – James rushes off to change, looks back to the camera, tilts his head and closes the door.
1:48 – Enter the Dragon – James looks at the young stunt guys with their resumes and does the finger wave.
4:00 Terminator 2 – James does the Robert Patrick run
4:20 Ferris Bueller’s Day Off – James does the Ferris head tilt & nod before driving off
5:32 Batman – The POW!
I remember that VERY well. He should do them every year.
Well he didn’t present this year because he was nominated but yes I’d love to see him make short films.
No I meant he should make these openings for the Leo’s every year.
Ohhhhh you meant just in general for the Leos. Yes.
