Oceana Gold sues El Salvador
Some of you may know that James’ wife Layla is Salvadoran. Recently it has come to my attention through the sumofus website that an Australian mining company OceanaGold is suing the government of El Salvador for $300 million because it will not grant a gold mining permit because of concerns it will contaminate the remaining fresh water supply in the country. OceanaGold needs to respect the democratic process in El Salvador.
What can you do?
