The Leo Award nominations were released today and it’s fantastic news for Arrow and James in particular. BamBam received his first directing nomination for dramatic series for Brotherhood, as well as Best Stunt Co-ordination with JJ Makaro, Eli Zagoudakis and Curtis Braconnier for the same episode.
Brotherhood was an exciting, action-filled episode that showcased James’ dynamic and thoughtful directing style. From the incredible elevator stunt to group scenes in the lair, Brotherhood demonstrated the use of longer shots, camera angles and handheld cameras to enhance the story and immerse the viewer in the action.
The Stunt Nomination is a well deserved recognition for the team-work involved in the stunt heavy episode. The Elevator Scene was a one-shot that was inspired by a scene in Hard Boiled, directed by John Woo.
Also nominated for Arrow is Maya Mani for Costume Design for Legends of Yesterday and This Is Your Sword. Emily Bett Rickards is nominated for Best Actress for a Dramatic Series for A.W.O.L. In addition, J J Makaro is also nominated for Direction for The Flash – Enter Zoom and J J Makaro and Jon Kralt for Best Stunt Co-ordination for Legends of Today.
Arrow fans congratulate all of the nominees and wish James all the best for the Leos.
